5-Mar-07 Prayer – Getting God’s perspective
A friend of mine said to me, “I wonder how God thinks I’m doing. I’d love to talk to Him about it.”

The fact is He’d love to talk to my friend about it. Communicating with your Maker is a privilege, benefit, bonus, gift, and honor. Prayer is another word for communicate.

Don’t you think if He’s designed this Eternity/Heaven thing of spending the rest of His Life with us that He’d want to get acquainted before you show up? Spending forever with Him is kind of like that promise we make when we get married, “till death do we part.”

The difference with God is…. life as we know it today is the courting process. He gives us all the time we need to fall in love with Him. His idea of a marriage really means “till death do we part”. In forever and ever, there is no death, only life.

A relationship requires communication. Talking, writing, singing, drawing, running, walking, looking, smelling, touching, experiencing….. are just some ways to relate with Him. Talking or prayer is probably the most common.
