One-ness with the Source as a Child of God
Our one-ness with Him sets things up properly in that we can obey and serve Him as God but at the end of the day He is Father and we are His children. Should children go out and do the work of the Lord? Yes. Should those same children know that they are ONE with the Master? One-ness in spirit, in life, in fellowship with Him always forever? Yes.
If we only remain a servant, we’ve still missed the point and we are still two (Him and me) not one. It really is a mindset of the heart. If I live FOR God, I am not one with Him. If I live TO God, I am not one with Him. If I LIVE God, if I live His life, then we are ONE. It is a very subtle yet extremely significant difference. If I don’t live His life, then eventually I will become burnt out living for Him or to Him. Relationships with other people are exhausting, frustrating, tiring, difficult, and unforgiving. Only the Life of God can handle the people of God and the people not of God. We really need to get our heads around the fact that at the Cross there is a life exchange that happens. We must become that new creature.
As a child of God there must be a oneness with Him such that His rivers of living water are to be flowing from me. A true child of God is not separate from God, he is still connected to the source. The child’s life is intricately connected to the parent. As we get older in age we come to a place of independence. We are supposed to leave our father and mother and “find our way.”
However, as we get older we should be becoming younger as a child of God. The relationship ought to be the same way a toddler or infant’s life is absorbed in the parent’s existence. As a child of God, we don’t think like that. There ought to be a reckless abandonment in regards to man’s systems, policies, rules, regulations, and religions.
I think of three little people (children) I know personally under the age of 3. They have no knowledge of government, bad news, the behavior of a president, fake news, no concept of money, protection from a military, wars, threats, rumors, climate change, injustice, racism, time, talent, treasure, what a job is, bills, taxes, or resources. They have no clue how all of these things churn in our minds and hearts day after day after day after day.
How simple is it to just live in the moment, like an innocent child untroubled by the world, circumstances, and life. I think of of my wife’s dog who acts like one of these children. Her whole little doggy world is wrapped up in her master’s life. That is the mindset a child of God must have. Whatever my Father is doing, that’s what I’m doing. Wherever my Master is, I am. Wherever He goes, I go.
What can I do to change my life to be that of a young child or a dog?
